Today, at the grove of state trees at the National
Arboretum in Washington, DC, I saw a lone monk
parakeet flying low (just above tree top level) toward
the northeast.  I lost sight of the parakeet when it
flew behind a group of trees, but it didn't appear to
land anywhere near the arboretum.

Migrating waterfowl were in evidence with two flocks
of migrating swans, totaling approximately 75 birds,
and five flocks of Canada geese, totaling
approximately 500.

The only other bird of note at the arboretum was a
red-breasted nuthatch in the evergreens just west of
the parking area at the Asian Collection.

Cheers.
