Paul Mocko sends us his criticism.
I have followed migratory bird activity through Va-bird for several years.
I receive email from va-bird members on my posts on migratory activity at
florida's sw coast.
Paul believes discussion of bird behavior is inappropriate, rather than bird ID
and count, and unaccceptable for va bird ornithology?

Hello VA-Birders,
This post from ??? will be used for illustrative purposes. This is an
example of an inappropriate post to VA-Bird.
1. The post has nothing to do with VA bird sightings.
2. The Subject does not describe the birds or location of the post
3. The poster has failed to end the post with his/her name and
location
When a strange post like this is sent I contact the poster off-line to
indicate the problem with the post. In this case the email address has
had
other inappropriate posts and warnings, so I again sent a direct reply
and
also used it as an example to the entire community. I appreciate
restraint
from the community when an inappropriate post is sent (Do not send
replies
to VA-Bird or to the poster). Posts like this can result in banning
the
poster from VA-Bird.
Thanks everyone. Sorry for the stern (but occasionally necessary)
note.
Happy Halloween, early
Paul Mocko
Co-owner, VA-Bird
