With the busiest season for rehabbers coming up, Spring, I thought I'd post
the website and phone # for the Wildlife Rescue League. The WRL is based
in Northern VA, but their website has a list of other rehabbing groups
throughout the state. (Click on "links" on their website)
WRL: <www.wildliferescueleague.org>
Hotline: 703-440-0800
Note: WRL is all volunteer, including the rehabbers and people who answer
the phones. Please be patient for a return call. Personally, if I didn't
get a call back within 1 1/2 hours, I'd try calling for the name of another
rehabber. Keep the injured bird in a closed but ventilated box or brown
paper grocery bag. You can place a piece of clean cloth/towel in the
bottom of the box/bag.
