Just back from 8 days of birding in southern Mexico (mostly Chiapas and
some Tabasco or near the Guatemala border). Aided by a really great
guide, we saw over 200 species with close to 170 life birds--inspite of
spending 3 mornings at Mayan temples and a circa 600 AD palace with in
door plumbing without pumps. Outstanding sights included two sightings
of Harpy eagles as well as Black and White Hawk-Eagles . We saw lots of
over- wintering warblers. If anyone wants to see the complete list ,
email us and we'll send it.
