I'm sure most of you know but at this time of the year there is usually a
nice flurry of bird action in the late afternoon-early evening time period. I
was just out on the deck watching a redwing blackbird dancing and actually
once hanging upside down from the bird feeder trying to get the attention of
a female redwing in the feeder. It was giving a whee...whee...whee song.
Within about a minute 4 blue winged warblers skittered through the trees.
Then a rose breasted grosbeak used the feeder as the blackbirds were off and
away. Two white eyed vieros were singing back and forth down by the wetlands
and chimney swifts were flying overhead. Make a little extra time with these
longer evenings to enjoy the birds! Dave White
