Sorry to post a non-bird related msg here, but I figured perhaps someone
here would know the answer!
Found this cocoon on my lemon balm today (see my fingers for relative size
of the cocoon). Does anyone know what moth it will become? (I think I
read that only moth's make cocoons)

I only recently have started really observing and being interested in
butterflies/moths and their caterpillars. We currently have a dozen black
swallowtail caterpillars decimating our parsley plants, but we love them
with all of our heart, so the parsley has been sacrificed. :) We just
put netting over one of the parsley pots so that we can observe the pupas
and butterflies when the time comes - we're excited to watch it.
Thanks to anyone that has info for me! (respond off the list please)
Also, if there is a butterfly listserve at all, I'd be interested to hear
about that as well.
