Right now Broad-winged Hawks are flying north
over FLint Hill School, Oakton. I was just
outside with my Bio class and saw 7 fly over
along with a dozen barn swllows. Also tree
swallows are checking out one of our bluebird
boxes. Last Friday a harrier flew over and that
Tuesday an osprey flew over. The resident
towhee has arrived. I heard him singing on campus
for the first time today; though two weeks ago I
heard the first at the adjacent Oak Marr park.
On my walk to school today there were chipping
sparrows singing all along the route.
