While walking in the rain at Metz Wetlands this morning I heard a blue-headed
vireo singing, saw two blue-gray gnatcatchers and a brown thrasher. Other
birds were rusty blackbird, many field sparrows (moving through?), towhee,
red-shouldered hawk, and red-tailed hawk. On Neabsco Creek were a lesser
black-backed gull and the bald eagle sitting on the nest.
