Thanks all for the dozens of emails I got back! :)
The strong consensus is that it's a baby Baltimore Oriole, while a few
said Goldfinch (which my orig. gut reaction, but the beak and coloring
seemed just off). I think the Baltimore Oriole is just the thing I was
forgetting.
Thanks all, the list is a great resource for brainteasers like this. :)

A friend had this bird in her garage today (in Skippack, PA) and snapped a
photo of it. I posted it to my Yahoo Photos account under "babyBird".
Please reply off list if you have any ideas as to what it might be.

"Found this baby in the garage today, flitting all over the place and
scared. It stayed for about 1/2 hr that I am aware of; don't know how long
it was there. Apparently flew in before I closed the garage door? It flew
around and got caught up in the top of the door, so I had to put it down
again and it flew right into my leg!? Finally found the way out and up
into the large evergreen waiting for her mamma I suppose.Anyone know what
it is??"
