Started trip around noon at Leesylvania S.P. where I was delighted to
find that they've repaired two sections of the boardwalk completely and
are hard at work on the 3rd., and right at the cartop launch area where
the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER usually hangs out, I heard one singing and
probably saw it with my naked eye, but never could get my binos on it.
Also, in the same tree, only lower, was a GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET.
Then, around 5:00 p.m. while strolling through the Delray area of
Alexandria, my non-birding husband spotted a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH
bobbing along the stream bed near the intersection of Timber Branch Pkwy.
and W. Alexandria Ave. I say "La. Waterthrush" even though I noticed a
yellowish wash on the underside of the bird. It is a little too early
for a NORTHERN isn't it?
