Birders,
About 8:20 AM this morning, we observed an adult Yellow-headed
Blackbird. Bird was in a massive flock of black birds on Route 20
(Orange County) between Rt. 628 and Rt. 629. The mixed flock of at
least 5,000 birds included Rusty, Brewer's, Common Grackles and a some
Red-winged Blackbirds. Bird was observed in flight as the flock
undulated back and forth across the corn field but we could never find
it on the ground. After about 30 minutes the flock disappeared in a
southerly direction.
An alert policeman noticed our suspicious behavior and checked us for
terrorist activities, after all, the security level is Orange.
Happy birding,
George & Rosemarie Harris
Orange County
