VA BIRDers,
Today I observed a juvenile plumaged Yellow-crowned Night Heron at Huntley
Meadows north of the beginning of the board walk - it flew into the woods
very close to where I have observed adult birds flying into the woods. Given
the nearly continuous history of sightings of this species at Huntley for the
last few months, I believe this bird likely bred at Huntley this year.
Later in the morning, I spotted 2 Yellow-crowned Night Herons flying above
the trees on the east side of the big opening around the main pond.
