I just had one of those birding moments that are so exhilarating. It did
not involve any rare birds, but instead sheer numbers of birds.
In my yard over the past 10 minutes I have seen the following:
- a flock of American Robins ~100 (this is the most I have ever seen at
once!)
- a small flock of American Goldfinches at the feeders ~15
- a small Junco flock 4
- about 15 E. Starlings mixed in with the Robins
- 3 Tufted Titmice
- 2 C. Chickadees
- 1 Red-Bellied Woodpecker
- 1 Downy Woodpecker
- 2 N. Cardinals
- 5 N. Flickers
- 8 Mourning Doves
Just one of the benefits of working at home.
