VA-Birders,
Wood Ducks are being seen in the pond at Sparrow Swamp in Glencarlyn
Park in Arlington. They were not in evidence when I checked last week
when the water was slightly frozen, but a pair was there this
morning at the back edge of the pond affording nice views from the W
& OD Bike Trail. They were also drawing the interest of a healthy-
looking red fox who was patrolling the far hillside.
Cloud cover made slow shutter speeds necessary, but I managed to
obtain a few digiscopes. They can be seen at http://www.pbase.com/
