Dear friends and supporters,
Please join us tomorrow, Saturday, November 22 from 9am to noon, as
NVCT hosts a unique birding trip for novices focused on looking for Wild
Turkeys. This year the trip will be led by renowned birding specialist John
Drummond, participants will search for Wild Turkeys and their young along the
trails of Bull Run Regional Park in Centreville. We will also look for some of
Virginias other common bird species. This is our second year hosting this
Wild Turkey search at Bull Run Regional Park. This is a wonderful event for
families, and a great way to get in the Thanksgiving spirit, remarked Paul
Gilbert, NVCT President. Bull Run Regional Park is one of the few places in
Northern Virginia where Wild Turkeys are known to breed.
The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust is a land conservation organization
that has conserved 1,100 acres throughout the region through 40 conservation
easements and four wildlife areas owned by the Trust. In addition to direct
land conservation, the Trust also hosts a series of hands-on events called
Adventures in Conservation. This Wild Turkey search is a part of the
Adventures in Conservation series.
Participants should bring binoculars if they have them, and wear pants
and shoes they dont mind getting wet or muddy. We will meet in the pool
parking lot at 9 a.m. A $10 donation is appreciated. For further information
contact Kelley Elliott at 703-354-5093, e-mail information@xxxxxxxx or visit
