Just in case anyone else would like to find the Whitehurst Tract...it's
actually part of the DGIF Princess Anne Wildlife Management Area (as
opposed to Back Bay NWR)
This is one of three tracts of the Princess Anne WMA,  More info is
available at http://www.dgif.virginia.gov/wmas/detail.asp?pid=8

I visited the Whitehurst Tract this past Sunday afternoon.  Bird
species
included:

Northern Pintail  -- 2
Northern Shoveler  -- >20
Green-winged Teal  -- >80
Blue-winged Teal   -- 2
Mallard   -- >10
American Coot  -- >20
Hooded Merganser  -- >15
Pied-billed Grebe -- 1
Greater Yellowlegs  -- 11
Lesser Yellowlegs  -- 1
White Ibis -- 1 imm.
American Bittern  -- 1
Bald Eagle -- 1 imm.
Song Sparrow -- >10

This list of birds isn't complete.  The Pied-billed Grebe had hold of a

frog, which I thought was interesting.  It was a nice day to be out and
hear
the birds.
