One to two White-faced Ibis persisted through midday and afternoon, noted by
Bob Ake and Deniz Aygen in the early afternoon and George Armistead and myself
around 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. George got some great digiscoped images of one of
the adult individuals. He also found a Least Sandpiper here, and there were 4
Greater Yellowlegs here that also weren't present in the morning. Shorebird
numbers have fluctuated since this morning. A flock of 95 Black-bellied Plovers
passed overhead in a "V" here, calling, a grand sight. The lovely
Henderson's Short-billed Dowitchers were also still here in the afternoon.
More rain
today should keep this field productive. I will try to check daily and post
results. Chincoteague was quiet today but for the marvelous Clapper Rails,
Northern Bobwhite, and White-rumped Sandpipers, etc.

[P.S. There is some question as to whether the ibis are in Bayview or
Fairview, but I'm sure they're not in Seaview.]
