Thanks for mentioning this web site. It's terrific. It was fascinating
to listen to the recordings of Short-eared Owls, having heard the real
thing just last night at the now-famous Montressor Road in Loudoun Co.
I didn't realize that males and females vocalize quite differently.
Listening to both recordings, it seems to me that the very vocal owls
we heard last night were all females. Here is the direct link to the

What do the rest of you who heard the Montressor SEOWs think? Anybody
