Almost no warblers at White Oaks this week, but thrushes continue to be
excellent. At least two gray-cheeked and three Swainson's every morning,
sometimes
more. It may be the same two-three birds, but it by far the best
gray-cheeked spring I have on record. A wood thrush one morning as well (they
don't
breed here, and it's late for migrants). Also of note, 1-3 YB cuckoos every
morning, and a late white-throated on Thursday.
The warblers, never two of the same species on a day: yellowthroat - twice,
northern H2Othrush, twice, and blackpoll, magnolia, and redstart once.
I've now observed two birds with cicada's hanging from their beaks, first a
Swainson's, then a gray-cheeked.
