[va-bird] Re: Where are the Cicadas?

Hi Bart,
I live in Vienna, and we seem to be in cicada central. The noise gets louder
and louder every day. There is the familiar buzzing, but also in the
distance is a din that sounds like something out of a science fiction film.
Empty shells cling to the tree trunks. The air is full of cicadas winging it
to the nearest treetop. As far as birding around here, the W&OD Bike Path at
Clark's Crossing, mile 13.5-15 would be great. I have also heard that
Riverbend and Great Falls have plenty of the little creatures. Good luck,
Linda Millington
