I too had a group of waxwings gleaning sugar from the branches of a red maple
in my patio this morning. It was running from wounds most likely inflicted
by our overpopulation of gray squirrels (thanks to a neighbor who feeds the
little buggers). I was a first for me too and a lovely view as they were just
about 10 feet from me outside an upstairs window.
