All,
It was a great day for the Waterfowl Count in DC and down the Clara
Bar=
ton Pkwy. While the numbers were high in the count, the day was beautiful=
and it was great to be outside enjoying the day. I worked Area 21 that =
included Georgetown Reservoir, Dalecarlia Reservoir, Chainbridge, Carder=
ock Recreational Area and finally Little Falls Dam. As the day went on t=
here were less waterfowl out, and the ponds on the Potomac were icing ove=
r, and the water seemed to be high. While there was not much action at L=
ittle Falls Dam, there were several kayakers. =

Canada Geese - 27
Ring-necked Ducks - 37 male 7 female
Coot - 1
Northern Pintail - 1
Ring =96billed Gull - 17
Dalecarlia Reservoir:
Hooded Merganser - 3 male 1 female
Mallards - 5 male 3 female
Wood Duck - 1 male 1 female
Chain Bridge:
Mallard - 5 male 5 female
Black Duck - 7
Canada Geese - 63
Great Blue Heron - 3
Kingfisher - 2
Bald Eagle - 1
Black Vulture - 3
Carderock Recreational Area:
Fish Crow - 7
Canada Geese - 74
Mallards - 2 male and 2 female
