This am (9/19) I had a Western Kingbird along Rt 600 (Seaside Rd) north of the
ESNWR in Northampton Co. The Bird was on the wires just north of Cedar Lane (a
private drive) which is about 0.5 miles north of Jones Cove Rd. At the ESNWR I
had a good variety of warblers including: Palm, Prairie, Blk-thr Blue, Parula,
Cape May, Blackpoll, Bay-breasted, Nashville, Magnolia, Chestnut-sided,
Redstart, yellowthroats, N. Waterthrush (a really yellow bird), B&W. Also here
was a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak. Good raptor movement with several each of
Broad-winged, Cooper's, Sharp-shin, Red-tailed, Merlin, and Am.Kestrel.
On the CBBT, I had both Nelson's and Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow, Seaside
Sparrow, Sav. Sparrow, C. Yellowthroat, Palm Warbler,N. Rough-winged Swallow,
and a flicker. Also found a number of dead passerines including a young
Bobolink, 5 C. Yellowthroat and what appeared to be a Kentucky Warbler ( pretty
decomposed).
Good Birding,
Mike Boatwright
