This weekend my wife Sue and my 13yr old dog, Moondog, did some birding from
the Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail. Along the way we met two fine people,
one on the phone and one in person. Our first stop however was not on the
Virginia Birding and Wildlife Trail NNK but on the way. We stopped at
Aggregate Industries on route 3 outside of Fredricksburg where we saw:

We were advised to call ahead for permission next time, phone 540 775 7600.
Next stop was at the Rappahannock River Valley, Tayloe Unit, CNN19 This place
is closed on the weekend however if you call ahead of time (which we did) we
received permission to bird. The Tayloe Unit was I think 500 + acres, with a
variety of landscape. There was no one else on the property exect for Sue,
myself and Moondog. Phone number to call is 804 333 1470, the person on the

route 610 to the end of Farnham Creek, here we met Tom, a really nice
gentleman, who was telling us about the dippers and the noisy swans.
