Greetings,
These birds were among the highlights of a birdy morning spent at the NY
Monument area of the Manassas Battlefield. I just stood out in the middle of
the field, with my back to the sun, and watched the migrants and locals flock
to the trees and tangles. Lots of Empidonax flycatchers were seen including a
Least and possible Yellow-bellied, but the rest shall remain as sp. On to my
favorite group of birds..warblers. I saw Black-throated Green, Black & White,
Magnolia, Canada, Chestnut-sided, Am. Redstart, Pine, C. Yellowthroat, and
Ovenbird.
Baltimore Orioles and Robins were abundant. Other notables include:
Yellow-billed Cuckoo, RT Hummers, Pileated Wp, E. Pewee, White-breasted
Nuthatch, House Wren, Gray Catbird, Cedar Waxwing, Red-eyed and White-eyed
Vireo, Towhee and Field Sparrow.
No ticks this morning!!
