BJ and I spent the afternoon scouting parts of Frederick, Shenandoah, & Page
counties.
We were particularly looking for Rough-legged Hawks, Horned Larks, & Longspurs.
We missed the RLHA and LALO, but did find a number
of good raptors as well as 1 small flock of Horned Larks and a few Tree
Sparrows. The day list follows:
Harrier - 7 (6 near Middletown)
Sharp-shinned - 2
Cooper's - 1
Red-tailed - 13
Kestrel - 8
Horned Lark - 12 (Frederick Co)
Tree Sparrow - 4 (Frederick Co)
Many 100's of Robins still around
