Congratulations to Alan Schreck, Linda Fields, Kurt Gaskill and Bob Ake,
members of the VSO Roving Ravens team that participated in the 2005 Word Series
of Birding this past weekend. According to the official report, which can be
viewed on the NJ Audubon web page
http://www.njaudubon.org/wsb/PDF/2005WSBFinals.pdf, "our" team finished 8th ;
overall and 3rd in the non-resident category (behind Cornell) with 194 species.
While these four "Ravens" might be lamenting the birds they missed (e.g.
Whip-poor-will) I'm impressed with their grand total and would love to see the
list of the ones they did get. They deserve our congratulations for a fine
accomplishment.
