VA-birders,
The following is an outline of the general purpose of the VA-BIRD
listserve
and instructions on how to "subscribe", "unsubscribe", and view the
archives.
Please note that there are different addresses for sending "commands" to
the central computer... versus posting bird reports to the VA-bird
network.
Feel free to share this information with friends and publish in your club
newsletters. If you have any questions, please contact the list
administrators

VA-BIRD is a birding communications network covering the entire state of
Virginia where you can:
* report and receive bird sighting information
(Note: All items not related to bird sightings have to be approved by a
list
administrator prior to posting.)
TO SUBSCRIBE: send a message to: va-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with
'subscribe' in the Subject field.
After subscribing, you will receive a WELCOME message, along with a
command reference guide for your use.
Once you're a member of VA-BIRD, you can send a message to all
subscribers by sending your message to: va-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxx.
(NOTE: If you care to reply to an individual's message, please check
the "Send to" address to insure that the message is going to the
individual
and not to the entire VA-bird network. On some e-mail systems: if you hit
the "reply" command, your note will go to the entire network.)
Online, searchable archives for VA-BIRD are available at
//www.freelists.org/archives/va-bird Each list's archive is
automatically updated as new messages come in.

'unsubscribe' in the Subject field.
