Hello VA-Bird ers,
It is definitely spring in Virginia. Migration is certainly underway, and
according to reports it is ahead of schedule, behind schedule or right on
schedule. Since more people will be taking off for exotic locations where
email may not be available, I would like to remind everyone of the
?Vacation? option on va-bird. This setting will suspend email to your email
account subscribed to va-bird.
1. Go to www.freelists.org.
2. Login using your email address and va-bird password. If you have not
set up a password, enter your email address and leave the password field
blank. Follow the instructions on the email you will receive after clicking
login.
3. Highlight ?va-bird? on the Lists menu. Click on the ?Select? button.
4. The next screen is specific to va-bird and shows available commands.
Click the ?Change Settings? button.
5. The next screen shows the flags set for your va-bird account. Find the
?Vacation? flag and click the box to activate the vacation rule.
On the same page is a link to flag documentation that will explain all
settings.
Thanks for your supportive emails as I attempt to fill the large shoes of
Larry Lynch. Continue to post your articulate birding observations that
make this list so worthwhile.
