I tried for shorebirds at the mouth of Hunting Creek on Sat, 1050-1200
EDT. On the falling tide (low was circa 1345 EDT), here were extensive
flats both East and West of the George Washington Parkway Bridge. But
there were no (0) shorebirds present, and only low numbers of gulls (46
Ring-billed, 4 Herring, 11 Great-Black Backed) and terns (1 Caspian, 3
Forster's). The most interesting bird was a Black-billed Cuckoo that
flew North to South across the mouth of the creek and perched in a tree
just SE of the stone bridge for some five minutes.
