We were out there at about 2:30 today and there was a group of 9 near the
sign for Woodward. They were pretty spread out over the grass, mostly
staying by themselves.

arrived about 0940 this morning to find one group of 8 towards the

At 8:15 AM this morning I found the group of 8 in easy viewing distance
from the Woodward Turf farm sign, but also found 2 additional birds a little
further down rte. 654. On nearby Grassdale Rd, I met up with Mike Iwanik
who had located 3 additional Upland Sandpipers in the recently plowed
fields. So it's possible that there were a total of 16 Upland Sandpipers
sighted today. Of course, birds do fly.
Besides the Uplands, Grassdale Rd. also provided sightings of Killdeer and
two immature Red-headed Woodpeckers.
