VA-Birders,
Sherman Suter does not have access to a computer today, but will post
what he saw at Hunting Creek and Cameron Run later this week. He
asked me to post that this weekend he saw both a Least and a
Forster's Tern at Hunting Creek. At first glance, the Forster's
might have been taken for a Least Tern. It had a bill that was closer
to yellow than orange, and had a very short tail. It did not have a
white forehead, however. Paul Kane and I are quite sure we saw that
very bird from the stone bridge at Hunting Creek on July 21. We
puzzled over it too. It would be an interesting bird for someone to
photograph.
