As I was on the boardwalk almost an hour and a half before the rest of the
Monday morning group, I've got a few extra species to add to Fred's previous
post, and one correction - I believe the broadwing reported by Fred should have
been a red-shouldered. The loon was the first fly-over I've seen this month.
The next 4-5 weeks typically bring good numbers over Huntley on the morning
walks, weather permitting (I've had days of more than 100 on several
occasions). Spring peepers were out in force. Not entirely convincing, but
Spring put on a decent effor this morning... we're getting closer.
