Greetings all,
A walk at the Brown Farm in Blacksburg revealed the following feathered
types. Female redwings (12) were seen, 4 brown thrashers were observed and
singing, 1 brown creeper spotted, several cabbage white and clouded sulphur
butterflys were out and about and skunk cabbage is still blooming! While
listening to one mocker i identified the following imitatees in the span of
~10 min- car. wren, b. jay, robin, t. titmouse, kestrel, house sparrow,
cardinal, flicker, phoebe, r.b. woodpecker, chickadee, rw blackbird and
kingfisher... not too shabby a repitoir for just a few minutes of listenting.
Also heard my first blue headed vireo of the year in blacksburg on the
walk into work this morning.
