[va-bird] The debate is legitimate; the forum is wrong

Dear fellow birders,
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, is it possible that we could at least table
the entire discussion about hunting, or move it to private mail? Both
points of view have now been represented. I know which side I'm on; it
would involve fewer guns and more wolves, bears, and cougars, but my
going on about it, I fear, is unlikely to change anyone's mind.
In other words: I hope we can find it within ourselves not to be turkeys
and snipe, grouse, and rail about the situation. It's no egret that some
of us would rather not hear someone crow about their good day hunting, but
I think nobody was posting that in the first place. Can't we just agree to
pipit in the bud?
Respectfully,
Gwyn McVay
