[va-bird] The Kiptopeke Challenge

The 12th Annual Kiptopeke Challenge team birding competition, sponsored by  
Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory, will be held on September 16, 2006.  
Everyone is invited to form a team or sponsor a team that will be in the field  
that day. All proceeds help to hire the great seasonal biologists who  conduct 
the field research and to produce our educational materials. 
 
Because the event has become larger each year, we have finally formed a  
committee to handle the many details and I want to thank Committee  members 
Paul 
Nasca, Glenn Koppel, Mary Alice Koeneke, Kurt Gaskill and Tom  Saunders for 
their dedication to this event. Beside being a fund-raiser, the  event is also 
an 
important annual September bird survey....and it's  fun!
 
The Committee would also like to hear suggestions about ways to improve the  
event and make it better each year. If you would like more information or
