VA Birders,
Many thanks to all who responded on and off line to my query about where
Canvasbacks might be found in Northern VA. The consensus seems to be that
the most accessible places are Leesylvania State Park in Prince William Co.,
and Occoquan NWR at Woodbridge. A special thank you to Linda Millington for
pointing out that Occoquan is only open to the public Friday-Sunday. Let's
hope that the Canvasbacks will hang around until we get thru these storms, so
we can go out and look for them--and who knows, by then perhaps one or more
might show up at Roaches Run (I've had them there a few times in the past)!
