[va-bird] Surf Scoters in Augusta County

Allen Larner is unable to access his out-going e-mail at this time. He called
me and asked if I would make the following report. This afternoon he saw four
Surf Scoters in the Swoope area in Augusta County, two at two separate
locations.

I do not know how many of you on the two birdlist groups would be interested in
making a trip to see these birds. There is no way to know until whether they
will still be present tomorrow or whether they were simply plassing through
today.

Rather than trying to post specific complicated directions to the sites, I will
say simply that two were at the Boy Scout Camp at Lake Shenandoah, near Swoope.
There are signs to the Boy Scout Camp at many intersections in that part of the
county. The other two were nearby, on a farm pond, visible from the road, on VA
708, just before its intersection with VA 876.

I would be happy to give you more information if you wish to email me or call
me at 540-886-7815. Allen Larner's phone number is 540-886-1416.
