Greetings,
I'm not sure how rare it is for this time of year, but my husband and I
visited the lighthouses at Fort Story this morning (7/31). While on the
beach we
found two surf scoters just beyond the break waters. We also saw a small
flock of glossy ibises fly over.
By the way, I'm the Minnesota birder who requested info on finding American
oystercatchers. I just want to give the list a BIG THANK YOU. We did find
them along the Cheasapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Thank you to everyone who
was so generous with the information.
