Today we watched a surf scoter that was trapped in fishing line in
the James River in Newport News at the Park that extends into the
river in front of the Riverside Hospital Rehab center. Off Chesapeaks
Boulevard. I am wondering if there is anyone in the Hampton/Newport
News area who rescues birds. He was right by the pier that extends
into the river. He was diving and seemed well, but apparently he
couldn't fly; we could see the fishing line wrapped around him.
If anyone knows of someone who could help him, that would be great.
