I got to SRV each of the last two mornings and have the following to add to
Paul's list:
GREEN HERON - 1
SOLITARY SANDPIPERS - 2
BARN SWALLOWS - 2
TREE SWALLOWS - 4
EASTERN PHOEBES - 3 or 4
EASTERN BLUEBIRDS - 2
BROWN THRASHERS - 2
PALM WARBLER - 1 (not as yellow ones there last week... maybe Western?)
YR WARBLERS - 3 (fewer now than last week)
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT -1 (my first of the season)
AM. GOLDFINCHES (abundant)
Paul: My guess as to your mystery bird is a Flicker. There are many in the park
and I've seen their nesting tree. The white rump spot is usually the giveaway
for me.
