Sunday Morning 10/3/2004, Matt Bender and I birded the Huntley Bike
trail and Pond trail. Most of our success was near the small field off
of the Pond Trail. The highlights:
Black-billed Cuckoo - some debate on this one, the bill was all black
and the red around the eyes was present, but Matt got a good look at the
underside of the tail and was not 100% sure, regardless a great bird. Is
it not kind of late for Cuckoos?
Blue-headed Vireo
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Common Yellowthroats
Hooded Warbler - got some great looks
Black-throated Blue - got this one on the way out, as we were already
running late this little guy just made us even more late!
and more American Robins than you can shake a stick at!
We also went to Monticello but got there too early and did not see or
hear much. We did however see the flycatcher mentioned in an earlier
post, we also prety much decided that it was a Peewee.
