This morning brought our first neighborhood Great-Crested Flycatcher of
the year, whooping it up in the woods. We also had a male and female
Purple Finch stop briefly at the feeder along with the usual House
Finches. Not having seen a Junco at our feeder since April 19, I
wistfully read Mary Ann Good's post about her visitors. However, the
cycle continues and I will content myself with anticipating all of the
new arrivals that I can expect to see and hear in the neighborhood
shortly and will also look forward to welcoming the Juncos again next
fall in our annual "Junco appreciation" day at the feeder (which
consists of the Junco's favorite seed being generously strewn about on
their first day here).
