This morning (4/22) I had the first Wood Thrush of the year singing in
my backyard in Springfield, always a welcome song! Other neighborhood
highlights in the past week included a White-Eyed Vireo on 4/20, Chimney
Swifts and Ruby-Crowned Kinglets on 4/17, and the previously-mentioned
Purple Finch feeder fest on 4/16 (at several points during that
memorable day I had both House Finch and Purple Finch in my binos' field
of view and could compare and contrast at length).
