From Madison County - Town of Madison
Saw 1st song sparrow of the year at my feeder stations in backyard.
Along with male and female roufous sided towhees, white-breasted
nuthatch, 14 chipping sparrows, 12 white throats, 8 juncos, 7 male and
3 female cardinals, 2 Carolina chickadees, 3 tufted titmice, 3 bluejays,
male and female downy woodpeckers, red bellied woodpecker, 2 house
sparrows, 4 robins, northern flicker.
I have not seen any bluebirds around my property. Last year was the
first year in 20 years of maintaining nesting boxes that no nests were
attempted - in fact I saw no bluebirds here last year. Very
disappointing. I'm still hoping some late comers will show up this year.
