At just a little after noon, I took advantage of the nice overcast weather to go out onto the boardwalk, and there, just a few feet from the raised section of the circle were Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs, two Solitary Sandpipers, gobs of rough-winged swallows, and, as I was studying the sandpipers, suddenly a beautiful snipe appeared in my field of vision in the process of preening -- still quite close to the boardwalk. Later, just before the woods, there was a Great Egret, again very close to the boardwalk stalking and then nabbing his prey. Hopefully, all of these guys will hang around for the NVBC walk tomorrow A.M. Edna Aaron Alexandria You are subscribed to VA-BIRD.
