Birders,
A gusty, blustery day, but nice clouds and some nice birds. Temps were in
low 40s,
winds were rather fierce, 4 on ye olde scale, plus some powerful gusts; good
clouds
& good company. Jen and BJ were there the entire time; Ian and Doug
(co-workers)
dropped by for a few minutes; and Bob Blakeny, the Tuesday guy, helped out for
most of the day. Hours covered were 9:00 - 2:00 bird time.
the birds:
Bald Eagle - 3
Northern Harrier - 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 29
Cooper's Hawk - 4
Red-tailed Hawk - 46
American Kestrel - 1
Merlin - 1
Unidentified - 1
TOTAL BIRDS - 87
There were also a few skeins of waterfowl and a lone duck. Passerines were
hard
to come by, due to wind.
