I found a loggerhead shrike this morning at Sky Meadows State Park, in the same
area that Scott Baron reported seeing it yesterday. I also saw 3 vesper
sparrows; 1 along the entrance road to the bridal trail parking lot, and 2
along the entrance road to the main visitors center. In the woods along the
entrance road were all 7 woodpecker species, including 2 sapsuckers. A single
barn swallow was with the bunch of tree swallows at the fishing pond. Later in
the afternoon, a rough-winged swallow flew over my home in Woodbridge.
