Forgive what may be deemed slightly off-post, but readers of va-bird =

The Onion, a so-called NEWS site, on April 11, 2007 published an article =
by
Elaine Wynne entitled, "The Sibley Guide to Birds Has Clearly =
Misidentified
the Dark-Eyed Junco" in which she complains that he lists the Juncos =
with
Finches instead of Sparrows, and has done so in both the 2nd and now the =
3rd
editions.
I don't have the 2nd nor the 3rd edition, but I do have first editions =
of
both the Guide to Birds and the Field Guide, in which Juncos are clearly
included with Sparrows!!
Ms. Wynne goes on to malign also Peterson, The Aububon Society and =
others
calling them Bastards! I hadn't been aware of The Onion, but this is
