[va-bird] Shorebirds & Terns at Staunton River State Park 08/25/02

Greeting to all:

Meet up with Mark Johnson, Robert Ferrell and Rexanne Bruno at Staunton River 
State Park early in the morning on Aug 25, 2002.  We were looking primary for 
shorebirds and terns migrating thought the Piedmont.
There wasn't as many shorebirds as the week before.
Following is a list of what we found:

B Eagle - 5 (1A,4Im)
Osprey  that I missed
D C Cormorant - 5
Great Blue Heron - 15
Great Egrets - 80+ of which 41 was standing together
Canada Goose - 300+
Caspian Terns - 21 new high record by one for me
Spotted Sandpiper - 1
Solitary Sandpiper - 4
Pectoral Sandpiper - 15
Least Sandpiper - 4
Sanderling - 3
Snipe - 1
Dowitcher - 1
Greater Yellowlegs - 5
Lesser Yellowlegs - 2
Killdeer - didn't count
Semipalmated Sandpiper - 5
